Don't suffer..you should be able to take something for the pain. I was able to use hydrocodone..it didn't interfere with my blood pressure meds.

Like Nick said, Hang in There !
Praying for a good outcome to your treatments.

    stop the pain
    Bigdaddy8,

I started my journey here with a lateral neck juggler vein dissection to remove a cancerous lymph node also included was lower tongue surgery to remove cancer and all this prior to radiation and chemo. treatments for stg III scc hpv+. Sorry to hear you are in such pain, have you experienced it for the entire two weeks? Maybe, you need to include some of the percocet to break the cycle and relieve the pain. Anytime I felt pain I used the drugs at my disposal to help me out and then I quit taking them. If you’re worried about abuse or your blood pressure, your doctor has a wide variety of choices to use.

Good luck and welcome to the club

    it will get better
but only gradually. Friend of Bill or not, you need proper pain control. There is no advantage to being tortured by inadequate doses of pain medication. Take what you need, mindful that you need to come back off the med as you improve. Make sure your physician is aware of this problem, and get their support. You can do it.

While it's important not to overdose of course, there's also no need to be shy about pain meds. Don't suffer needlessly if other more effective options exist.

And yes, the pain should get better as your body heals. Get plenty of rest and try to keep your weight up.

Not a friend of Bill W., but did take the opportunity to stop drinking after all this Big C mess.

    Be well!

Hi Greg.....I am a friend of Bill W's.....
have been for going on 26 years. I understand your fear of the heavy narcotics in use for pain...but I decided when I was first diagnosed that this was a "first things first" situation, and if I had to use drugs to combat incredible pain, then so be it...You know fear of the future is what puts us in a tizz. So....stay in this day, tomorrow will be here soon enough.

I have faithfully asked God in a daily basis to help me get thru each day as it comes...To give me the strength to get thru this one day....and then turn it over to Him. It has worked just as it has worked for me thru all these years.

I did tell my Dr.'s that I am a friend of Bill W.'s so they would have a heads up on who I really am....
