Hydrocodone

So today was my doc appt after rads with my rad onc. It was also a day I missed work due to a very painful swollen throat and ear and subsequent stomach ache from too much ibuprofen trying to bring the swelling down. Two weeks ago she prescribed the hydrocodone and I carried around the script for a while then finally took it to the pharmacy to be filled just to have on hand if ever needed. So she asked tonight how that was working for me and I told her I hadn't tried it yet. So I picked it up tonight as she said this was only going to get worse now. I got home and took it more as an experiment than anything. Oh my gosh, I have no pain tonight - don't feel even a little loopy and feel energized. This is the first time I've felt good in weeks so love that stuff! I really don't want to miss any more work. Have any of you taken it at work? I may actually get a good night of sleep tonight :))))

    Depends
    Depends on your work....

Let your employer know, and of course use common sense and follow the directions.

For me and working from home it wasn't an issue, but also I do all computer work.

I'd try it at home first and see how you function. For me it didn't do anything other than to take the edge off of the aches and pains. But late evening, I would tend to get pretty sleepy, mainly like you because I was pain free.

    Best,

Later I got a little sleepy too
That was my first experience with hydrocodone, and my employer is having my laptop programmed with all the programs I'll need for work at home - so that is doable. I felt energized last night as I felt good for the first time in a long time - able to get all kinds of chores done - but yes I felt sleepy later and slept hard! So I can now see where it probably wouldn't be the best if you had to get into the car within 4 hours or so - same as alcohol would be my guess.
