Retreat slowed me down more than planned

I went on a much needed 5 day spiritual retreat on March 11 and promptly broke a bone in my foot. I was so upset, not about the bone but about maybe having to leave. I was able to stay for 4 days but our son had to drive Jim over to get my car home. It was the first time Jim has driven since diagnosis in May 2011. He did fine. Now we have reversed rolls somewhat. Jim now has to drive me everywhere which is somewhat of a challenge because he still tires easy and gets confused on directions.

The brain shunt Jim had put in is not helping right now because they have been unable to adjust the flow for different reasons, long story. He is scheduled to have it adjusted next Tuesday baring any problems. Please pray for all to go well this time.

I think about everyone on this board and pray often. Without all of you I would not have survived Jim's treatment. Thanks for your prayers both past and present.

Debbie

    Sending prayers and positive thoughts....
to Jim and his shunt adjustment....and that your broken foot heals fast....(what a bummer, having to leave early from something you were really looking forward to)...

    Sorry about the foot
    Debbie:

So sorry about the foot, but glad you got 4 days in! And at least Jim is able to drive you around during your incapcity! Here's praying for both of you!

there is some humor in this
You remind me of my wife and I recently. So here I am, feeling pretty lousy from chemoradiation, and my wife's back goes out. And we have an entire two bedroom apartment to pack up to move back home after treatment ended. I guess you just have to laugh and do the best you can. which sometimes isn't very darned good.
