Alternative Medicine to shrink tumors anyone?

Has anyone looked into or tried an alernative medicine treatment for a brain tumor? I've been reading that cancer cannot survive in an alkaline state. Therefore if you take the right summplements and change your diet it alkalize the body it could potentially get rid of the cancer. I've also been looking into cesium that shrinks tumors. Anyone out there?

Hi,
My husband, Jacob, has oligodendogliamo gade3 and went through all of the conventional treatments; radiation, temodar, and avastin. At this time, NO is recommending repeated radiation as the only option as next line of treatment which I am too worried to go through fearing the side effects of radiation for the second time. I have been come to hear about alternative treatments (which Jacob or I didn't really care before!). Another 5 year AA3 survior I came to know through one of my friends suggested the following treatment which he is pursuting as her next treatment. (She stopped conventional chemo 3 years ago and has been on this hollistic approach since!).I am not sure how to go about it,but I think it won't hurt to look in to it.C

Hi,

I am not sure if any of these suggestions work but I am doing research for a friend of mine with glioblastoma.

The AntiCancer book by Dr. David Servan Schreiber is excellent and I highly recommend it for anyone. Dr. Servan Schreiber used all the conventional treatments and also completely changed his diet and survived 20 years after initial dx. It's not clear exactly what type of tumor he had but from all reports it was very aggressive. It is great to listen to and see him in the videos online. He makes it a point to let people know they should not discontinue conventional treatments but to enhance those with a very healthy diet, which is good for anyone to follow, cancer or not.

You stopped your chemo? Did you do radiation ? Or have surgery? How long did you do chemo?
GBM4 is what my sister had also. Even though treatments were scary and yes a poison, with out it seem to be more scary. I dont know the right answer...I still find myself gasping for air when I think about it.

I had also heard about alkaline, and cancer not able to live in that. I ran out and bought the test strips and asked my sister to test her self. She was a very healthy eater before gbm4. And her strip showed she was alkaline.

Maitake looks like a real winner. Please google it and read the research. It is standard adjunct treatment in Japan... accompanies most chemo and noted to mediate side effects and reduce tumor size. All research looks hopeful. Maitake D Fraction and also the full body mushroom as in soup etc..I combine with Shitake. I can't say from experience that it works, but I'll give it a try...it can't hurt!

Our NO is suggesting to stop treatment as radiation is the only option and he does not recommend it. My husband has grade 3 oligodendroglioma. What kind of tumor are you dealing with. I would like toknow how do I get it and how much to take it.
Thanks,
Rani

So I found this remedy of natural vitamins that is supposed to alkalize the body but as you probably know there are tons of them out there. Its by Dr. Barefoot and it consists of Cesium chloride, DMSO, gold gel coral calcium, and vitamin D. The only problem is that i have been researching the cesium and it says that it may cause swelling in his brian where the tumor is. I really dont think he has any room for swelling becuase its about to cover up his 3rd ventricle. I guess were going to take these things to his docotr at the moffit cancer center and see what he has to say. I really hope he can try it. theres nothing else leeft to do but monitor it.

Hi all,
My husband has Oligodendroglioma grade 3 (I have many recent post about my husbands situation). He had an acute bleeding while on Avastin and now the doctors are saying he can't have any types of chemo any more ,only option is repeated radiation of low doses over 4 weeks of time. He is very weak and tired and his NO said no treatment is also an option in his condition. One of our family members is suggesting me to take RELIV products. I am skeptical and also worry about complication as he has bleeding issue.Any insights would be appreciated. i think I am getting desperate...
Thanks,
Raani

Hello everyone. My 11 year old daughter was diagnosed with AA3 in November 2011. They never found a tumor, but biopsy showed AA3.
My wife and I began praying to God for help. Part of that prayer was for Him to teach us and show us what to do.
We allowed the doctors to prescribe Deximethisone 12mg/day for the swelling on the left side of her brain. More than 90% of the left side was swollen.
She also had 6weeks of radiation therapy(photon treatment) as well as Temodar every night for the duration of radiation.
Our part was that we changed her diet to a completely organic-Vegan diet. We purchased a water ionizer by Ionways and a juicer from Norwalk. We had her drinking around 24oz of alkaline water at a pH of 9.5-10 and she was drinking around 24oz of carrot and apple juice. We would every now and then juice a pineapple and mix her carrot juice with that. We also have a chiropractor that does holistic medicine and had her tested. The test(which is a for real medical test) showed that her healing ability had been blocked or stopped because of the chemotherapy. He prescribed some whole food vitamin supplements that caused her healing ability to start working again.

She had an MRI done while she was in the middle of radiation therapy and it showed about a 70% reduction in affected brain area. She just had her scheduled MRI that they take around 6 weeks after radiation. I have not seen these images yet, but the doctor left a voicemail on my phone that stated that the MRI showed a significant improvement. This was God's plan.

My plan B would be taking a medicine called DCA. DiChloroAcetate....I think. It is being tested in Canada and shows a significant reduction in brain tumors. You take it like alky seltzer. You can research on the dosage and you do not need a prescription. You order it online like body building supplements.

You body pH can only move slightly above or below a 7. The idea behind the high pH water is 1st-alkalinity...2nd-an abundance of antioxidants.
I hope this helps
