Another Marine with Cancer
Falcon69,
I also served in the Marines during the war. I was diagnosed with a anaplastic astrocytoma (WHO Grade III) in Nov 2010. A fellow Marine, who also has been diagnosed with cancer, just sent me this link that may be helpful to your DevilDog:

Just stumbled on this.
Was there any answer to the original post? It was discovered I had a 4+cm tumor Jan12. I had major brain surgury, to save my life and get back on my feet. Post surgury, in reaching out to fellow Marines, it was discovered another Marine also had brain anomolies. Out of four Marines, 2 have major head anomolies. I believe it was from the exposure to DU. If you had or were given answers, please, send or post a link. God Bless. Thank you.

GoBlue3605,
Thanks for your reply to my post. I am so sorry to hear of your dx and pray your surgery was successful and you are recovering well. What type of tumor do/did you have. My son had his 1st craniotomy in Dec. 2012 and a 2nd one in Feb. 2013, due to new growth. He is now receiving chemo (PCV) and that will be followed by radiation. I sure wish there would be more studies done and statistics on this put out there for the public. Please see the post just above yours for a link. I've been checking regularly for a reply to my post of March 2012 and DevilNut1775's from Oct just appeared today. Don't know what that's about!
I firmly believe there is a connection between DU and cancer. It certainly deserves investigation even though that won't change my son's or yours, or anyone else's situation.
Prayers and blessings,
Julie
