vets and brain tumors

Has anyone heard of or researched a link between brain tumors and vets who served in Iraq/Afghanistan? My son served in the Marine Corps from 1998-2006 with 2 deployments to Iraq and was dx with a grade 2 oligodendroglioma Dec.2011. There seems to be a higher than usual percentage of brain tumors and other cancers in the vets from the Gulf War thru Iraq/Afghanistan.It seems it could have something to do with "depleted uranium dust", among other things. I thought I'd just put it out there.................. |

I also served in the Marines during the war. I was diagnosed with a anaplastic astrocytoma (WHO Grade III) in Nov 2010. A fellow Marine, who also has been diagnosed with cancer, just sent me this link that may be helpful to your DevilDog:
