Three years ago today!

in Breast Cancer #1
I received a phone call on this day 3 years ago informing me that my biopsy was positive for breast cancer. I was at lunch with a co worker. My whole world was turned upside down......but today I am still dancing with NED!

    NED is a lucky guy having so many of us beautiful ladies to dance with.
    We always have hope and for those who haven't seen NED yet or have passed, we
    pray and pray for a cure.

    January it was 2 1/2 years for me.I don't get a mammo for a year now.I am worried since 3 benign tumors have been found since my dx Aug 2009.Tumor found in July 2009.I was called in to see the doctor when it was found to be malignant.I went alone and was shocked but was assured my cancer was non invasive and confined to the milk duct area.Tumor being 1/2 centimeter.DX DCIS

    Congratulations on your 3rd year anniversary.Won't be long till my 3rd year will be here.I am thinking postive.

    I'll say "honoring" instead of "celebrating," Roseann, because -- I don't know if you feel as I do, but my cancerversary is always a mixture of emotions for me. Celebrating how far I've come, and all the strength I had to find inside me to get through treatment -- but also always some sadness that this was the day my world turned upside down, just as you say.

    So honoring your day with you today, Roseann. My 3 years is coming up in May.

    Thanks everyone!
    Traci, so much has changed for me since my diagnosis. I can't say it is a celebration...more of a reflection of how far I have come. So many of our sisters are not Ned and who knows what the future holds for any of us. However, I get how precious my life is and the gift each day I have on this earth is.

    We need to grab our happy moments when we can and being Ned 3 years out is definitely a happy moment. May all of us be Ned!

    And im very happy for you. My three years is April 9th of this year and im also still dancing!!

    My long time Dr called me
    My long time Dr called me (about 4 yrs ago) but his words did not scare me..He said NOT GOOD BUT NOT Bad! He said DCIS...

    so I jumped on my daughter's computer (teen at time) looked up..saw Cancer....

    left and she saw note and where I seached and called me all scared...I felt bad..


    Anyhow KEEP dancing...
