Back from G'Burg and Prayer Requests

Hi all:

Got back from G'burg yesterday afternoon. We had a blast even with the rain and we did have a little snow. One of the friends I went with wanted to go to visit where they scattered her brother's ashes last year at his request when he passed away due to cancer; so we did that of course and the rain stayed away for that outing. The weather did not deter us master shoppers though!

My prayer requests are for my sister's best friends (they all went to high school together and her best friends are married Martha and Fred) I mentioned earlier. Fred did see an ENT and they found out that the cancer that he has there are about 80 different kinds of it and they don't feel his is the worst. He will have surgery Feb. 3 for removal and then go on from there. So we all feel better about having seen an ENT. My brother that lived with us his caregiver Gladys' husband Eddie had a liver biopsy Thurs. and will find out results next week but they don't think it is good. These are such dear people and I ask that y'all remember them in your prayers.

Nephew Brian continues to improve. They have found out that he has no cartlidge in one of his shoulders. They are talking about surgery for that. He is maintaining weight at about 130 lbs. which is wonderful considering he lost down to 96! One of his shoulders was a problem before his accident so don't know if accident contributed any or not. They are watching his potassium as it continues to flucuate from time to time. He is talking up a storm and talks about his daddy and how he talks to him. My sister in law has started to tell him his daddy passed away over a year ago and he said "how come I talked to him last night, then?" She told him he'd had a traumatic brain injury and he asked her if he was going to be alright and she said yes, you're getting better but it's going to take a few months. So he seemed to be trying to process all this and he does talk in the present as well as the past. But what a miracle he is even if he does talk in the past a lot! At least he's talking and knows everybody and they did tell my sister-in-law that it may be 12 to 18 months before we'd know if he would be like he was you, know, normal!

Anyway, that's about it for now. The boys did let me back in the door yesterday and were oh, so happy to see me of course as I was them. I do miss them so when I'm gone. I was so sorry and heartbroken to read about Chefdaddy's son. That is so sad; but I'm glad our police and fire services people are so willing to do things like the sheriff's dept. is going to do for his son. Well, that is it for now. God Bless!
