I am 21 and ever since I had a Bone Marrow Transplant back in 1996 it has been a long hard battle to lose weight that I have gained due to high dosages of Steroids and other treatments that I had while undergoing treatment for ALL and so due to hypothyroidism (low thyroid due to Radiation therapy) I have a low metabolism and I have struggled to lose weight for years now. I also have a few underlined health problems that are concerning and losing weight can greatly decrease the complications due to the problems. However, I have yet to find any helpful information on losing weight in my situation at hand. If anyone has had the same issue and has found a solution I would greatly appreciate the feedback and support. Thanks in advanced

Hi there. Im 24 a young survivor also. I had oral cancer and the weight i lost before and after treatment amounted to about 15 kilos (33 pounds) Im quite a slender build anyway so gaining weight was such a difficult issue for me. I was prescribed high calory drinks (nestle do them here in France not sure where you are) they range between 200 calories to 500calories per drinks. I had at least three a day with meals so make sure that my intake was over 2000 calories. If you can manage three a day thats already 1000+ calories. This has worked for me and im slowly gaining weight.
Hope this helps.
