I'm sorry, maybe this discussion board is the wrong place to the post this... but I am really having a hard time. My Aunt, or the woman who has raised me since I was a baby, has been recently diagnosed with Uterine Cancer Stage 4. She's had the cancer for 7 years and we all didn't know about it because she was always so stubborn to go to the hospital. Words cannot describe the pain that I felt when the doctor told us that even with Chemo treatment she may only live two years. I need to know, is this all I expect to be with her for? Two years? Is there anyone out there who has survived this? I can't even, I don't even know what I would do without her. Please, is there someone out there who can help me?

Oh, how sad that doctor's say such things!!! I feel your sadness and see that you are up in middle of the night. Your aunt is like a mother to you.

Please don't lose hope. There are lots of treatments that doctors can provide. Many people here have with stage 4 cancer have responded well to treatment.

I do suggest you request a functional profile (or assay) of the tissue. Not all doctors order this, but it will help identify best drugs to treat the cancer and buy time - which can be our enemy when dealing with cancer.

Please hang in there and help advocate for your aunt's care. Keep us posted.

Hugs to you and your aunt. Mary Ann
