Breast MRI - waiting for results
Now I'm fretting waiting for results and knowing it's xmas and I might not get to know anything until next week because the world is on vacation (my doctor offices are closed except W, Th next week). I keep telling myself this cluster of lumps is not what breast cancer feels like and then I wonder what my boob felt like to my pcp. Afterall,I've only examined one set of breasts - mine - and she's felt many. My bc last year was not palpable at all. Then I remember that 8 weeks ago a radiologist, a rad onc, and a resident examined me and deemed this as normal breast tissue. Then I remind myself that my pcp said the only reason she was ordering an MRI because of my history, that she would not do it for a "normal" patient. No matter what my line of thinking at the moment is, I've got my hand in my bra approximately 10 times a day and doggone it, there's something there that hasn't always been there.
Ah, cancerhead, go away!
I figure if I type this (or say it outloud), everything will be ok and I'll feel foolish for worrying. So there.

If It's any consolation
Suzanne. if it's any consolation, I've had a cluster of lumps in my breast for at least 5yrs. The doctor said they were fibroids after he ran a series of test. I didn't even feel a lump when I was diagnosed with bc twice it showed up as calcification. I will be praying for your health and that you have a peace of mind. Lots of hugs.

Survivor ship grows in time .. 'big girl' panties and all. It's also wonderful to know that we have such a kinship of Sisters in PINK -- that will come to our rescue in times of our own insecurities ... or cold sweat, creeps, agitation, anxiety, fear, hysteria, uneasiness; frazzle, ready for a slight nervous breakdown; or edginess, jumpiness, skittishness - while we await results.

I'm so sorry you have to wait. It was exactly this time two yrs ago that I waited for my biopsy results. One thing that sticks in my mind, there was a woman, younger than myself who also got a suspicious mammo the same day I did and she chose to wait until after the holidays to get her results. I would never have that kind of calmness. So when I got the results were bc the good thing was that my daughter had arrived from Chicago that day and was able to go with me for preliminary planning. Hang in there, positive thoughts coming your way. Happy Holidays.0 -

Suzanne been there done that I totally understand your apprehension and hope you get your answers sooner rather than later. I'd call the docs office to see if someone could call you so you don't have to wait so long. I'm very glad to hear your doc is airing on the side of caution by ordering the MRI, most likely it is going to give you the okay to relax and continue to enjoy good health!
Try to put it aside for now and have a Merry Christmas!

I am sending prayers, but I am sure glad you are keeping in your hands until you know the results! I had to smile as I pictured it, the first time I felt a lump, I either was holing it or had someone else checking it to see what they thought it could be.

We all are with you
We have all been there, wondering, worrying, looking and feeling a thousand times trying to convince ourselves one way or the other. In the end we never know for sure. Only the tests will tell. I thought I had a recurrance again a few months ago and it ended up being an infection. I had a biopsy and everything. Enjoy the holidays and remember we are here for you. Sending positive thoughts.
