I took oral Xeloda for two weeks and I am now in the hospital going on 12 days for diagnosis and treatment of a serious crohn's flareup. I battled crohns 20 years ago but have been in remisson ever since. I thought my recent symptoms were simply side effects of the Xeloda but after many unpleasant colon cleansings, scope tests, ct scans, blood work, etc. the gastro doctors say I have a serious intestinal crohns inflammation which has caused severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, loss of appetite and lethargy for the past few weeks.

My onc says no more Xeloda for my bone mets. Once the crohns settles down they will start me on IV infusions of Navelbine chemo and Xgeva.

Hope the cancer isn't growing while I recover from this crohns problem.
