**** has a PET scan tomorrow, Tuesday. Please pray that things are at least stable. His reoccurrence was in January and I just pray the chemo isn't losing its strength. I have to admit I am scared. I'll let you know later in the week.

Thanks!!!!

Aloha,
Kathleen

**Update**

**** picked up his scan report today and there is no new growth. We are very grateful for that!
The report was confusing regarding whether the nodules in ****'s lungs had shrunk, showing improvement or were unchanged. Both comments were in the report. **** said, "It appears that the Radiologist feels strongly both ways." Words such as unchanged and stable or shrinking and or resolved in the lungs were all used. **** met with the onc today and asked the onc about the part of the report that said, "persistent minimally hypermetabolic pulmonary nodules that are likely due to residual inflamation without evidence of active colon cancer metastasis" and the oncologist grabbed onto the part of the report that says "the residual, minimally hypermetabolic, bilateral pulmanary nodules observed on the prior study are unchanged."
So, the oncologist is going to meet with the radiologist tomorrow and see what is going on with the lung nodes. We are also going to meet with a friend of ours who is a radiologist and sit down with him and look at the scans. In addition, we will send a CD to Heinz Lenz at USC and we are trying to get a review at Sloan Kettering to see if they have an opinion that we haven't heard. ****'s feeling is: "Anytime mucinous adenocarcinoma is moving backwards it is vital to attack and fill that space." As always, we welcome any experience, opinions or thoughts that you may have.
We are relieved that there is no spread. We'll keep you posted.
Thank you for your prayers.

God Bless and Aloha,
Kathleen and ****

I wish I had an opinion that said it was great news, but I have NO OPINION at all, as I don't understand the darn things. I know I have a couple of spots that show in my lungs, one was brand new on the last scan but the radiologist just said it probably was missed on the other scans (un huh, okaayy)and that one appeared calcified (good news) and the other might or might not be cancer but most likely not. So in a just in a wait and see pattern.
What I'm hoping is that you have a radiologist that is in love with writing, so he wrote a lot on the report and that you find out that "the residual, minimally hypermetabolic, bilateral pulmanary nodules observed on the prior study are unchanged" is the way it is, and that its just some type of scarring and nothing more.
    Thinking of you two,
    Winter Marie
