Growing again

I've been on Vectibix for 15 months, along with Irinotecan on and off and have been doing well. The last scan shows more growth in my lungs. 1.4 cm new nodule plus many other new growth while on vectibix and irinotecan. This hit my husband and I pretty hard as we thought I would be stable again. The new drug protocol is going to be Avastin, Oxaliplatin, and Xeloda. This will be a 3 week cycle. I'm not looking forward to this. Previously I have done FOLFOX, then Avastin with 5FU, then the vectibix and irinotecan. Have not done the Xeloda before. I have been able to work through all of the previous treatments.

Right now I am tired of this CANCER. I was ok with managing it before, But this bus hit pretty hard. I am trying to get my mind wrapped around doing another hard round of chemo. I know the oxi will be hard. I am not ready to give up yet but I'm not looking forward to the next three months.

Valerie

    That stinks
I know how you feel...very tiring but have to press on and stay positive. I go tomorrow for treatment after having two weeks off and I dread it!! I'll be thinking and hoping the best for you.

    Sorry
I'm sorry to hear that you have to go back to Folfox. I to was on Irinotecan and Vectibix and it worked very well for about 10 months. then cancer showed progression so I too had to go back to Folfox and Avastin. I understand how you feel about hoping to at least be stable.I pray for that too,for both of us. It has been hard for me to accept that full blown chemo will be part of my life until the end. I hope your side effects are few and manageable and that the chemo once again kicks cancers butt.

    Xelox
This treatment is called xelox, my husband has had 4 treatments and is doing well, works most of the time, exercises, eats well, takes ensure plus. He gets nausea but is ok with meds, tired but so far its okay. His CEA and tumor are both going down. Think you will like it.

By the way, my husband just started treatments 4 weeks apart, much better on him. Gives a better quality of life. You might ask about that.

My treatment is Xelox (oxaliplatin plus Xeloda) and does not include Avastin.

I am so sorry to hear that.
I am so sorry to hear that. As tiring as it is please keep fighting for your family and out of spite for cancer. Everyday we are here is a victory and one day closer to them finding a cure. Keep fighting.
