Treatment of scalp after hair loss

Options
I have begun to lose my hair and a friend is going to shave my head tomorrow. What is the best treatment to put on my scalp after it is shaved?

    Just...
Be careful when you shave it....and you have to shave it in different directions....your scalp may become very tender for a few weeks...mine certainly was! I also just used baby shampoo....

Remember....it will grow back....it will grow back!

Thanks. I have had terrible migraines from this. I didn't know it would be so uncomfortable. I just wanted to get my head back to an equilibrium. Take care.

    Same here, carkris
Once my hair started to fall out, I also just buzzed it down to the lowest setting on the clippers (a "1" or a "0," I think) -- with white blood cell counts going up and down and risk of infection, I think that's a safer way to go than shaving (I'm not a medical professional -- just my own opinion).

Sandra, do keep an eye out for awhile for itchy little red bumps on your scalp -- that's a sign of folliculitis, which can sometimes become serious. Just tell your doctor right away if it becomes a problem -- they have great prescription creams/gels/foams that clear it right up.
