Just had unforgettable Diving and photography holiday at kabiriai resort PNG.
So 10 Days great Diving, healthy eating and sunshine vitamin d.

Then one sleepless night in agony, at resort, on my own.

First day at Home with wife and kids which I missed heaps.
Yesterday in little catholic hospital rabaul on drip.

At 3am a little fatuous, the first movement of anythimg out of bum for 36 hours.
Then massive diarrhea Al day, used 4 nappies.

At 4am left hospital for airport, paid $1200 for last seat on plane which was business class.
Feeling ok, still parched, no loos at airport, thank God for the trees.

Got wheelchaired from domestic to international flight port morseby. I wanted to save to save my strength.

Landed Sydney 4.20pm, met by wife and kids and straight to saint Vincent's hospital to be checked for blockage, malaria. They did abdo xray and bloods. All good and released me.

Had a good night's sleep and had my chinese tea and vege juice today.

My travel insurer insisted I be medicated out at cost of $65000 at my cost.
my diving Dan insurer offered to cover the business class flights out even though both policies had preexisting conditions as exclusions. So my partial blockages was attributed to all the abdo surgery.

Might just have to holiday in beautiful australia for the next few years so I have access to our fantastic health system.

Wanted to share this story as a warning about full and partial blockages and travel insurance issues.

Hugs,
Pete

    Hi Pete,

Wow- that ended up being quite the vacation, didn't it? Sorry that you had the blockage and that you had it outside of your country. Glad you are doing better now.

Take care & keep up the healthy stuff. :)

Just learning about crc the crc way.

Budget Travel has been my passion for 10year's since retiring and having family.
Having to rethink destinations. Just glad to be alive and Home with family.

I ate so well, a perfect little vegetarian someday. The freshest fruit and vegetables and fish.. Now even this approach might need to be modified because blockages are not fun.

I am down to 96kg, only got 6kg of fat to loose. This is the fat still around from when I was 10 stuffing my face with KFC and icecream.
    Lost 4kg on the trip.

I felt the lowest I have felt on my own. Quiet desperate and sorry for myself.

I still dream of a healthy life lived adventure by adventure but I did not expect it to be this hard.

In heavy pain, no way Home but for $65000 evactuatiin that could not afford.
I actually felt so great underwater, in the sun, on the boats, exploring volcanoes, watching pilot whales at sunset, patting wild dolphins, playing with the native kids.

The little surprises crc gives us. Guess we just cannot
    Take anything for granted.

I hope you are going well.

    Hugs,
    Pete

Hi Pete, sorry to hear of
Hi Pete, sorry to hear of your troubles. I feel your energy of wanting that perfect life back! I have not been able to take a vacation to see my family in such a long time because I have been so sick for so long.... i long for the days back when i was visiting my mom and dad at least three and four times a year. After all they only live 1800 miles away and a 3 hour plane trip away, but health issues and dr visits and days where I just can't get out of bed have stopped me from going. They are in thier 80's so traveling for them is really not an option...This cancer stuff really sucks!

thats why I am making hay while the sun shines, or trying to anyway!!!!!!!!
I agree that cancer sux, but i'd rather be alive with cancer than dead.
We got no choices anyway, just to play our hand as well as we can.
I pray you have are well enough to visit your parents, now thats a great goal.

    thanks gail
me to I was pretty sorry for myself.
the $65000 bill for the possible evacuation or the prospect of my bowels exploding due to
air cabin pressurisation was a real risk.
But I am catlike, I got 9 lives, only used a few so far.

Feeling really well, got onto the treadmill today and had a swim.
Got this dam huge disgusting hernia, seeing the colorectal surgeon tuesday, but I don't want to goto hospital.

    Still happy to be home.

    Hugs,
    Pete
