Anybody got anything on this? I have started having cramping...like charlie horse kind...in my feet....uhhhh...its really wierd... I have to put all my weight flat on my foot to get it to stop...if I relax...the whole foot starts drawing up.... it don't hurt like a charlie horse in your leg...but I cannot control it or stop it..its freaky.

yesterday.... I was at a restaurant at a big family dinner and this cramping started in my hand..... my fingers drew up and my hand kept turning in... it didn't hurt...and struck me funny... i was trying to tell my husband what was going on but he thought I was just messing with him and was actually getting mad at me for screwing around...and that made me laugh even more.... He finally believed me when he seen my hand being all stupid on its own and I wasn't making it do that!!! geesh!~ Point is....wtf??? why is this going on with my feet and now hands???? This is a new one. I got a call in to the doc and waiting to hear what he says. I thought maybe ya'll might have had something like this???? or not??? LOL

    yes.....ever since oxy.......
I have had this..if I stretch in the morning or at night or while driving the hands feet or legs start to cramp up. I think I am not hydrating enough. Potassium may be low or Lactic acid high or both...I really think its hydration ...but yeah I have had it since 2008/09 to present........buzz

    Yep
Yeah, I've experienced that too. It seemed to go in phases where it would happen a few times a day for several days in a row, then it wouldn't happen for awhile.
I have also discovered that if your body is low in potassium that you will be prone to getting muscle cramps and spasms. Last time I was getting them, I took two pottasium capsules & it went away. Talk to your dr. about that possibility- they can check your potassium level in along with the regular cbc stuff in a blood draw.

    cramping
Hi,I have had the cramping also during chemo. My calcium was really low even tho I take supplements(I stopped diary as I was getting severe diarrhea from the xeloda)My last treatment was on Aug.10 2011 and all the cramping is gone.I got spasms in my upper lip(while on the Folfox)...didn't look too pretty with my top lip curled up in a sneer like a rabid animal, lol, especially in public. But its gone now ,tho I still have extremely watery eyes.

    Take care

    Cramping/charley horses
Yes, I am having the same cramping/charley horse thing in my feet after oxaliplatin and it started after first infusion. Hasn't started in my hands but lots of tingling. Have only had two treatments so far.

I had an old orthopedic "walking shoe" from a badly sprained ankle a few year ago. I strapped it on my foot to keep the foot from curling under and drawing up and slept in it the first time this happened.

I had that hand thingie too, but only for a couple of days after the Oxy, then it would go away, same with charlie horses. It was definitely an experience.

I have cramps in my legs that won't go away. My onc thought it might be low magnesium.

    Cramps
When I was in chemo treatment my doctor gave me a prescription of Quinine Sulphate Tablets 200mg - I took one tablet on the same morning when I had my treatment and that solved all my cramps problems. After I stopped in the treatment I had not take these tablets from May until August when I had cramps few nights in a row so I took one tablet and the cramps stopped. I always take Magnesium every day and calcium also and eat banana but that was not enough to cure the cramps.

    Me too
My leg pain is so bad at times I just cry. I put in my for my SSI because the pain from the oxai I'm no longer able to work. I talked to a friend of mine on Saturday and he now gets FULL disability from the pain the oxai has caused him.

    Magnesium
I always had magnesium/sulfate prescribed with the Oxi. Made no difference for two day, although I'm sure it helped in others!!

    Cramps
The advantage of the hand cramps is then you can dance to "Thriller" without even a thought of what to do with your hands! When it happened to me I introduced my wife the the nefarious fiend, The Claw. She was never as amused as I was. Fortunately, The Claw has not been around here for some time.
