Why do some people have to have always have attention drawn to themselves? Are they that lonely?

I've always wondered why people always need to get attention. If they don't get it from others, they make sure that it is gotten somehow, even if they have to make up stuff.


Is it because they are so lonely and insecure? Wondering what your thoughts are on it,or, if you even know people like this.

    Yes, I know people like this Jan. I actually pity them and feel sorry for them. I just feel they aren't getting any love at home and look elsewhere to feel that void.

    I think there are many reasons. Some people want the limelight and will do anything to get. bad or good.

    Jan... I know a couple of
    Jan... I know a couple of those individuals. I also feel sorry for them,too, and let them be. Those around them can pick up on their need for attention.

    There a few that like carkris said, that need the limelight and it is so obvious to everyone except them I guess. I do agree that they are lonely and that is sad. I usually just ignore them and let them try to make themselves feel better by focusing only on themselves.

    Jan, I know one for sure and
    Jan, I know one for sure and I too feel very sorry for them. I just assume their home life is bad and no one there pays attention to them.
