The ones I've been complaining about for months? Turns out it's "impinged shoulders", (inflamed around rotor cuff)I've had it since my surgery, sometimes not so bad, sometimes severe, it's been so bad I couldn't raise my arms for the past week, talk about pain.
LOL, a cortisone shot in each shoulder, and the pain has lessened soooo much, now on to ice packs and home physical therapy and they should be good again shortly.
Possible reason it's been since surgery according to GP doc is that they put my shoulders in a position that aggravated a pre-existing but not painful shoulder condition already.
Ahhh, nice to have a non-cancer related condition and hurray for cortisone!!!
Here's to being able to hang cloths in my closet again!!!

    G'day Marie
I hope it goes . I developed bi-llatteral frozen shoulders a few years back. It started on the left . I could not raise my arm to or above shoulder height or reach behind my back. They treated it with an ultrasound guided cortisone shot into my shoulder joint. The pain relief lasted about 5 days then came back worse than ever. After 6 mos they were going to do a saline distension where they pump saline and cortisone under pressure into the rotor cuff. It is supposed to break up the adhesions and free the shoulder. I did not go ahead because of the cost and the continuous physio needed. My right shoulder then frose as well. It is some of the worst pain I have endured. After 18 mos the shoulders gradually freed up. The worst thing that happened to me is I had a lumbar mri and had to have my arms above my head for nearly an hour. It really is amazing how much tolerance you can develop to pain. Best wishes Ron.

    Yikes Ron
Sounds like hell. Fingers crossed this works for me, I didn't go for months and hope I didn't wait too long. The cortisone so far as eased the pain so much, I still have some, but it didn't stop me from sleeping last night.

    Don Cortisone
You probably already know this, but one can't/shouldn't take cortisone too often because it can cause permanent damage. That being said, I've had it done years ago for tennis elbow and it worked. I guess it worked, I haven't played tennis years so I'm cured!!!!

I know what you mean about when you're under during an operation. I imagine some nurse has a series of photos on their cell phone of people in really weird poses that they put us in while we're out of it.
