Just returned from Tokyo---1st big trip since diagnosis

Hi all,
Simply sharing: I just returned from Tokyo and everything went better than I could have hoped. I had my ilestomy reversed in October, went through the Depends stage, and for the last few months have had very few accidents (and can usually trace why, like drinking red wine). Anyway, I purchased some Depends before going away for my one week trip, and the change in diet caused me to rely on them . I ran out while there, but fortunately could find a store in Tokyo that sold them, Japanese-style.
My point is that I was afraid to go, afraid of all the what-ifs that come with colorectal cancer recovery.
But I did it. And I got to see part of the world that I've always wanted to explore.
I did it. Even with my fears.
