I was diagnosed right before Thanksgiving 2010, had a mastectomy in Dec and 4 rounds of chemo. My doc says I will have my 1st mammogram this Dec 2011, a year post last mammo, MRI, Mastectomy, chemo.
I thought I would be on a six month schedule.

    Mammogram frequency
I was diagnosed in Nov. 2009 and had a right mastectomy in Feb. 2010. That was followed by 4 rounds of A/C and 12 rounds of Taxotere. I had my reconstruction surgery in June 2011. I see my oncologist every 3 months. I had a mammogram in Nov. 2010 - one year after my diagnosis and will have my next one this coming November. I will likely have an MRI and a PET/CT scan, also. Those will be my 1st post-treatment scans other than the yearly mammogram. A yearly schedule is pretty common according to my oncologist. Of course, there can be reasons for an alternative schedule.

Mine was dated from end of treatment
My surgeon and oncologist agreed that my first post-treatment mammogram would be 3 months after completing radiation -- it was scheduled relative to end of treatment, not relative to my last mammogram.

After that first one, I had mammograms every 6 months for the first 2 years -- after 2 years, my surgeon has me back on an annual schedule.

I've heard many variations on this schedule from other women on this board, so it's clear that doctors have different protocols for followup.

    Mammo
Diagnosed in Fall of 2009 with agressive Stage IIB, HER+, Grade 3 B/C. Had 6 months chemo, 1 year Herceptin, lumpectomy and lymph node removal May 2010, followed by radiation. Last Herceptin was Nov. 2010,(3 weeks interval) and the doctor regularly during that time. Had a PET scan late Feb. 2011 as well as a mammogram and blood test - negative, Thank God. Note on the mammogram said - reschedule in 1 year. However, oncologist scheduled another PET scan and blood test beginning of this month and I saw him at that time. Next appointment in 3 months, and if all is well, another series of tests by the end of this year/beginning of next year.
