    It is hot here in Virginia as well, but no beach time for me...lol.

    Will be joining the family for a picnic at my folks home and praying that the thunder storms hold off until we are done.

    My mother is a great cook so we will have lots of good old family favorites. I understand that my one grandson said he wouldn't come unless she made her baked mac and cheese and of course her cooked green beans. Of course they are on the menu, even though they are not technically picnic food...lol.

    Don't get too much sun at tha beach!

    Also hot here in Texas heading to Joe Pool lake tomorrow for some kayaking and working safety for the swim event for an iron man competition.

    I am very busy procrastinating on cleaning this place up in preparation for guests this weekend.

    My sister and her husband are driving in from Indiana to drop my nephew and his stuff in Manhattan for his new job, then they are coming here tomorrow. My girlfriend is coming down late night Saturday as well.

    If I knew how to knit, I could probably make sweaters with all the dog and cat hair in this joint... Maybe I'll try vacuuming the dog while I'm at it :-p

    We are finally leaving for PA. to visit family and my newly found siblings.
    My sister had a colon resection and the sutures came apart and now she is in ICU with peritonitis. Please offer up some prayers for her.
    I went to dr. today and blood work is good and i started the zeloda today.
    So I go home to celebrate new family and praying that my sister comes through this.
    I can't imagine that the Good Lord brought us this far for anything bad to happen.

    my weekend
    Well today (it's Friday), I'm taking it easy this morning after having slept in quite late the day following our return from our Laughlin trip. Doing some laundry & need to go to the grocery store.

    Don't know about tomorrow (Saturday)- hubby has to work to make up for taking days off for vacation (bummer). My 45th birthday is on Monday, but we are going to do something to celebrate with the family on Sunday afternoon. I am wanting a new smartphone for my birthday (haven't had one yet where I can check facebook or access the internet). So I've been looking online & will go into the Sprint store sometime this weekend to hopefully pick something out.

    The weather is hot, but nothing compared to where we just were in Laughlin, Nevada (in the Mohave desert along the Colorado river- just across the river is Bullhead, Arizona). Tuesday, it got up to 116. Ugh!

    Robert is not doing well on this chemo..fatigued and nauseous, so he is sleeping mostly. Pepe, do you not go to the running of the bulls??

    Same here, Rick is feeling

    Same here, Rick is feeling pretty lousy right now. He's on Folfiri/Avastin and was disconnected from the pump yesterday (3rd treatment). I'm trying not to worry too much about the extreme fatigue that he's currently feeling since many here have told us that it's normal. Anyway, I guess it will be a quiet weekend for us, although I'm hoping to take him for a picnic by the lake tomorrow if he's up to it. Best wishes to everyone for a nice weekend!

    Bill and I got back this evening from our camping trip. We had a really good time, but it was raining like crazy today and looked like it was going to continue all tomorrow. So we came back a day early. Right now I'm just chilling, watching the Braves (hopefully!) beat the Phillies. Tomorrow we're going to the farmers' market and maybe out to lunch. Sunday will be church!

    You made me laugh with this one. I have a sign hanging on my frig that says "In this house, cat hair is a condiment". It's not really in the frig, but just about everywhere else, lol.
