My Breast Cancer has spread to my Right Lung and it is on the top of the lung. I got the result of the Biospy and it is Triple Neg. I have already been through 3 types of Chemo with no result of shrinking the tumor. So starting Tues. he is going to try Gemzar & Carboplatin has anyone been on these before. I am only 46yrs and I am not done with this world. Would like to continue to work if possible or should I just hang it up and enjoy life? Thanks for letting me get this off of my chest. Any suggestion would be nice.

    Some Info for you...
    Hi there.

I'm sorry to hear the news that your BC has spread. I'm also TN and just had my mastectomy on June 1st and I'm doing radiation now. I did chemo during the winter/spring.

I found this information that might help...

You're in my thoughts and I wish you all the best. Keep us posted on your progress.

    my suggestions
I am sorry to hear that it is on top of the lung.. I was diagnosis with triple negative myself two+ years ago and again two+ weeks ago... that kind of chemo I have not tried but the A/C that I took two+ years ago shrunk my tumor down to almost nothing..I went from the surgeon wanting to do a complete mastectomy to having a lumpectomy unfortunately it did come back like a nasty teenager and I did have the mastectomy two+ years later, but the doctors are still talking about how well it shrunk down and how well I was determined to never give up... I was 46yrs old at the time with kids still at home and I thanks God I was determined.. I would tell you that it is up to you as to whether you feel up to continue to work or hang it up and enjoy life... but do me a favor never give up...be determined to win and not cancer... I hope this helps... Diane

    What is important?
Do what you consider important. Some people work through treatment because it gives them focus and a feeling of purpose. I did not work during treatment (I love my job) but I wanted to focus on getting through treatment. My feelings about work come from the fact that my mom worked 12-16 hour days saving for retirement. She died just before her 50th birthday (lung cancer).
One of the gals I work with said no epitaph ever said "I wish I had worked more".
Once you beat this, you can decide if you want to go back to work. If you really enjoy your job you could work for a bit and decide to stop later. It really is a personal decision. Can you afford to not work, how does your family feel about working or not? Would you go crazy being home or do you have a lot of stuff you want to get done?
Whether you work or not, enjoy life. Hang in there, there are still lots of new treatments coming out all the time.

I am so sorry for your
I am so sorry for your diagnosis. In terms of working, it probably depends on whether you enjoy what you do. If you feel like you need more time without work, you might try part-time. I was retired when the cancer hit me, so I really don't know what is the best route. I know I'll pray for you. I also have Triple Neg. and my onc said we will begin lung x-rays starting in July.
