Not flunking rads.....out of school suspension

So, I had my 28th, and last, regular radiation treatment today BUT just as I expected I did not get my markings for my boosts and was told not to reappear at the center until Monday. Even then he made no promises and said he might not do anything until Wednesday, wonder what happens on Wed? Do we wait until Friday if he's not happy? One of the techs suggested that if things don't look better to me Monday I could always just call them and let them know, saving me the 2 hour round trip. I think he wants to see me to be sure I haven't developed an infection but also to keep me in the groove so I don't just say "forget it"

My sister told me to look at boosts as insurance, like a pair of suspenders worn in addition to a belt....I told her I never liked that look, LOL .

Starting my 3 day suspension, I guess I am going to "summer school" before I am a rad grad,
(and here I thought I was an overachiever),

Jennifer

I would do as your onc suggests. They know what they are doing and are trying not to make things worse. When I was having rads I was told that sometimes they have to wait a week or 2 because someone is burning too much. The boosts are more focused and aimed at only the surgery site. You are almost at the end so make sure you get your "diploma"!

    Hang in there....
Your rad oncologist knows best....Let your breast "rest" for a few days...even though you're missing a few days, you're still "cooking".....I was told the "cooking" continues for about two weeks when rads are completed....I know it must be so painful and I am so sorry for that...but you have light at the end of the tunnel....on your way to recovering your health....

We'll all cheer when you graduate! Your "suspension" won't appear on your grade transcripts....lol
    Hugs,
    Nancy

When I went through rads I
When I went through rads I got cooked too well done and had to take two weeks off to heal. I'd go in every couple of days and he'd check the site. After two weeks it was finally healed enough and continued to finish rads.
