My "baby" sister, Wendy, is flying here tomorrow from San Diego. We are staying in the French Quarter for a few days. Some of you got to meet her when I was in San Diego. She is a IDC survivor too. I am looking forward to visiting and playing tourist :-)

What!!! My adopted 'Sibling' is arriving tomorrow,
in New Orleans? Sounds so fancy staying at the French Quarters -- living life on Bourbon Street .. all the restaurants, culture and History.

Please have a good time, and give Miss Wendy a gentle hug from me ..

    Post pictures if possible....

    Strength, Courage and Good times!

    Have fun!
And don't forget to go to Central Grocery for a muffaletta, not that you 2 girls could eat a whole one, or even a 1/2. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM all that yummy olive salad!

Have a fantastic time! And for a few days push us to the back of your mind and enjoy being a tourist.

I love NOLA!! Have fun, fun, fun and enjoy that sister time

    Complications...long story
Well, it was a fun but complicated visit. We checked into the Westin on Thursday. Wendy had a little cough/URI. Out to dinner with family and friends Thursday night. Walking in the Quarter Friday. By Friday afternoon, poor Wendy was not doing well: coughing fits, chills, etc. Katherine told us enough was enough (sometimes it takes the younger to see clearly).

We checked out that Friday late afternoon and I stopped by my local urgent care. A z-pack, tessalon perles and codeine cough syrup, along with her private bedroom/bathroom, lots of tea and soup, and she was greatly improved by the next day.

We had a nice visit anyway as we then just watched Buffy--yes, Chen, Katherine has me watching it from the beginning--we are just about to start season 2 and, yes, I am hooked ;-)

Saturday night we went to a local seafood/steak restaurant as Wendy was feeling up to it and met Jeannie, oldest sister and also a survivor, and her daughter.

Wendy is headed home today and, although not 100%, she is clearly better. The amended plan actually worked out fine--very cozy with lots of visiting, but I was sorry that Wendy wasn't herself and am happy she is on the mend!

Sounds like a 'grand' time was had by all .. even with
Wendy under the weather -- :(

I am still inspired by the close knit of you 'Sisters'!

Well you are now one of honorary sisters so you are just as inspiring :-)

Yes, it was kind of cozy and relaxed, even though it was not what we had planned at all. She is now home safe and sound.

    coincidence and off topic
but... my youngest daughter just spent the past 5 or 6 days in New Orleans on business, and said every meal was delicious and different!! She loved the city, but flew back home to NYC today.

I am happy that you had an enjoyable, yet rather unplanned, visit. It is great medicine-- for all of us.
