Hi,

I am having surgery on Tuesday. I will have a tube that comes out of my side and empties into a bag. I am very nervous about this. Dealing with jaundice and the itching side effects, not being able to eat without being sick the pain in my side where my liver is. I am so ready to be done with this.

I have been on chemo since July 2009 for colon cancer which is now in my liver and lymph nodes. Currently on Erbitux. I started the Erbitux the same time that AnneCan did. I have been watching to see how she is doing. I do not actually get on and say much but I do read posts.

Thanks for listening.

Robin

    Drainage tube
My husband just had this done Monday at IU in Indy, they drained it I think to his intestine, no outside tube. His color is almost normal. He restarts his 3rd chemo tx next Monday aiming toward surgery on large tumor on liver after 6 tx. He almost died after the 2nd tx of CPT-11, back to Zeloda and Oxi this time. Its difficult not to get discouraged, its an up and down battle, but there are many stage IV success stories and that keeps us going, plus lots of prayer and people praying.

How wonderful it is that they can perform these surgeries and ease our suffering.
I'm so glad that they can help you this way, and yep, your being willing to "be done with this" says it all, even though you're nervous, you do what you have to do to make life living easier. I understand the nervousness completely!!!!
Boy, am I nervous before any surgery, but, since we have these wonderful surgeons that are well practiced in their area of expertise we can pretty much be assured we're going to come through it quite nicely.
Will be thinking of you on Tuesday, hoping you have someone that can post to us how you are doing.
I used to live in Springfield, Ohio.
    Cyberly with you on Tuesday,
    Winter Marie
