Blood Transfusions

Options
I have a question... my last chemo (doxil) kicked my butt and the doc made me get a blood transfusion....Hemo was 8.6 I never felt better (everyone said I would just leave the hospital glowing feeling so great) had two bags and it took 13 hours!!! I think I "recovered" at about a 9.5 but again never felt like the boost I was told I "should" get. Today my Hemo was 8.6 again and he mentioned it again. I said no....what have any of you done about transfusions? I try to eat iron healthy foods but they say that won't do anything so what the hell? I could take an iron supplement would that work the doc says no....He told me if I was tired he could give me one....well duh I am tired I am on steroids and sleeping 4 to 5 hour a night. I'm not scared to get a transfusion or anything I just wonder if it's worth it really??? Any thoughts?

    I never got a transfusion,
I never got a transfusion, but they did give me a shot because my counts were so low. If it is going to help, why not get another? This one could possibly get you back up and moving. Just my opinion. We are all so different and respond so differently to things. I know you will make the right decision. Praying for you. Lots of cyber hugs.
