I just closed a condominium for my daughter yesterday!!!! We have been looking for 2 years, and this one had a huge price reduce 2 weeks ago. We put in an offer, and I now have the keys!!!!!! LOTS to do, but we have a month before we switch countries, so it should be time enough to get her moved in and settled.

And, my beau's "sharing" my coffee with my laptop (NEVER try this at home...only for trained professionals) resulted in hard work the last few days, getting my software loaded and files restored....*smile* I'm a computer consultant, but the Windows 7 is different...after 20 years, I have a learning curve...

Met with the on-site maintenance guy....REALLY nice! And all of the residents are very friendly! And, there are many members of my daughter's church group around her...some even in the same complex....so instant friends!!! YEA!!! Edison and the painter coming today, Gas Co tomorrow, carpet cleaner waiting in the wings till painter is finished!! YEA!!! We are so blessed....the painter and the carpet cleaner are the ones from the apartment complex. When we gave notice, the manager gave us the names, and told us she would tell them to give us HER prices....($80 for cleaning 2BR/2BTH carpet...) WHAT a grand lady!!!

Thanks, gals, for your well wishes! This was the one piece left to get a solution for...I always worried when we left for The Netherlands that Kristy would be ok....

Hugs, Kathi

Yes, it's busy, but my sister is so excited for her niece, and said that the house stuff can wait till October when we get back, that settling Kristy is much more important!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing you, too! John is such a delight, BTW...I spoke with him on the way to starting the process of getting my invention manufactured....I told him he could call anytime...but I think I blew him away with all my talking...*smile*

Yes, it was frustrating Kristy, but I told her all would be well as we kept on waiting for a place for her...

The owner of the condo had passed to cancer, and her sister was handling the estate, as well as a brother that was not doing well with cancer. During the escrow, he also passed....I told her agent that she could take as much time as she needed, as long as I knew that the condo was mine...that I was dealing with my mom's passing, as well. And being a cancer survivor, as well, I knew the ends are never pleasant! Plus, this gal has a failing mom to take care of....the money from the condo will go toward her care. It was truly meant to be, I feel!

And, the selling agent is a Sister in Pink....having battled the beast twice...and even having a stroke while driving due to a med for treatment...

TeeHee....I'll get one after the 'switch'....
Thank you, dearheart! We do our country switch July 4, then I will relax...at the end of July we are going on a 7-days cruise from Hamburg, Germany to Rome, Italy. Then taking the train to Venice 2 days' later, staying 3 nights in Venice, and then flying to Berlin for 3 nights, and then home...hummmm well, maybe I'll relax in August/September...*smile*...

Today is Relay for Life with my BFF. We met in Washington, DC, when we were both Legislative Ambassadors with ACS. I retired, she is still active. So, she 'volunteered' me to help...lol!

WoW - great itinerary! Don't be to surprised if when you open your suitcase a few of your pink sisters here pop out in time for drinks and dancing!! =P

    I'm in Bloomington @ the I-10 & Cedar Ave..home of the seemingly endless extensive (and-for-no-apparent-reason) roadwork. :D

Is your daughter new to the area or has she lived hereabouts? :)

I agree....what IS that work going to be when finished??????
My daughter and I both used to live in Rancho Cucamonga. Then, when my beau got sick, I moved in with him to take care of him. Then we started this 'switch countries' thing, so I wanted my daughter to live by her grandmother, to keep each other company. So, 2 weeks before we were scheduled to do our switch to Holland, we moved Kristy to Redlands. And a 1 bedroom apartment until we could find something to buy. That was 2 years ago...so now she is ready to move and spread out...

So, we MUST get together! You are practically right down the street! I'm off the Ford street ramp.

    Hugs, Kathi
