Hi, everyone!

Hope to catch up on all the news soon. I'm still recovering from Friday night's Relay For Life. I stayed all night with a few members of my team, and it was awesome. The survivors' lap was so emotional, as always. More members of our church came than before, and it was so lovely to see them waving and cheering as I walked by.

Those of us who stayed all night had a BLAST! After all the emotion of the survivors' lap and the luminaria ceremony, we were ready to let it all hang out some. We did Zumba in the rain about midnight and danced like fools from about 3-4:30 am. Fun!!!

My team is currently at a total just over $4000. I had a goal of $5000 for us, and I'm hoping we'll still pull it out. Some people have indicated they would like to make donations, so we'll see. Even if we don't get there, I'm pleased, because today's economy is tough.

I'm on the planning committee for our county, and this was my first year as co-chair of survivorship, so it was super busy for me, but I enjoyed it. It gave me more opportunity to meet other survivors.

This morning at church our team was recognized, and we displayed an angel tree. People had the opportunity to donate a $1 per angel in honor or memory of a cancer patient. It was lovely. I also sang "Amazing Grace" and dedicated it to everyone who's heard the words, "You have cancer." It was a BUSY weekend, and it was emotional.

My new picture shows me with the GREATEST HUSBAND EVER, Bill. He's always my strong support in everything. The reason my Relay shirt is blue, is because I'm on the committee, and they like to have us wear the committee shirts after the survivors' lap, so people will know who to ask for help. You can't see it in this picture, but I tucked the sleeves of my purple survivor shirt in my waistband, so I could still proudly proclaim my status.

I thought of y'all when I was walking and dancing all night. I spent a lot of time reflecting on things in my early am laps, and I felt blessed to have such a strong support system here.

*hugs*
Gail
