I've been doing Xeloda, Irinotecan and Avastin for 12 courses every other week and even though they had to reduce the Xeloda to 3/4 strength and the Irinotecan to 1/2 stength to minimize side effects, my tumor has gone from significant activity and 2 x 1.6 cm size to moderate activity and only 1 cm in size. The lymph nodes are barely perceptible.

This is my third go around with stage IV colon cancer, had original surgery in 2007, HIPEC in 2009. This time I decided to try chemo instead of surgery. I've also started taking a lot of supplements and eating more organic.

I love Xeliri compared to FOLFOX, way more tolerable and I haven't had to miss a course. Also only one day off work to get infused instead of 3 days because of the damned pump.

It's interesting, my husband has had at least 3 colds this spring, I have only caught 1 of those!

I'm going to go another 4 months then retest to see what my status is and perhaps take a well deserved break. I haven't been posting lately altough I try to read posts periodically. Work and life have been crazy and something had to give.

Anyway, it's great to see so many familiar people posting, I hope everyone is doing well. Traci

    Sounds good
    Hi Traci,

It sounds as if things are going well for you- I'm really glad to hear it :)
It seems to me from what I've experienced (Folfox, Folfiri, Xeliri, and now Gemzar w/5FU & Avastin), that nothing is bad as the nasty old Folfox with the oxaliplatin.
I'm really glad to hear you're doing well and staying overall fairly healthy!
Glad you posted- keep it up- you can do it until they disappear!
