A friend suggested I do this, twice. Finally I bit the bullet and created one and let me tell you all, it is so helpful. It is like journaling. I guess really that is what it is. It helps to get those feelings out. It has also made updating my family and friends so much quicker and easier. I highly suggest it for everyone here who doesn't have one!

    Started mine shortly after diagnosis
I think it was actually about midway between my first and second treatments. It was the smartest thing I ever did because it made it so much easier to keep everyone updated on what was happening. Sure beat hundreds of phone calls and emails! I suggested it some time ago on here but there didn't seem to be much activity. Glad you made the decision! Don't forget you can post pictures too.

    Caring Bridge just do it!
I knew about Caringbridge.org from a friend. I created my site pretty much right after I found out.
It is great for keeping all the facts straight and making sure everyone gets the same messages. I will try to make it educational with links as well.
I also enjoyed all the posts of encouragement. I will still go back and look through them.
I find I just posted after doctors appointments and about weekly.
I feel if I post too much friends will start to ignore it. I didn't want to be like some of those people that are posting all the time on facebook!
I use it to stay positive. I kept a personal journal with the cancer sucks comments! I don't want pity, I want support and that seems to be working great for me.
I would suggest doing it early so as you get worn down, people know where to look for your updates.

    Writing through it all...
I heard about Caring Bridge after I had already started a blog online for all of the same reasons mentioned here. I created my blog with Google's Blogger. It was super easy. It has been very therapeutic and it has help keep all our friends and extended family on the same page.

I welcome you to visit my Breast Cancer blog at www.personalexploration.blogspot.com
