LONG TIME friend

in Breast Cancer #1
A friend who has been like my dad since my dad died 32 yrs ago hasnt' been doing well! HIS wife of 60 yrs died in Aug from Cancer (had it on and off for about 20 yrs) HE has given up...no will...

JUST keep him in your thoughts..he is very dear to me...!

    Thoughts and Prayers
    Thoughts and Prayers for you and your friend.This happens alot when people lose a spouse.Esp one they have been married to for so long.They are lost.He knows you care and support him.He needs that now. my husband and I have been married for 42 years and talk about how hard it would be if something happened to one of us. Since my dx we are becoming closer than ever.

    Something That happened years ago.A couple were married a long time.She had cancer and of course it put alot of stress on the husband.As she was rushed to the hospital in the ambulance(he by her side) he died of a heart attack.He just couldn't go on without her.

    married 60 yrs
    I went to see him in rehab today...seemed a bit better with many around him...things going on..not in house alone...

    worst thing his wife (I considered my mom too) died while I was in Disney this past aug..i missed funeral by one day...(24hrs to be exact)

    Both very special...really family even though not any blood..

    Sending out my love and prayers to your friends family. When I was first diagnosed with my BC back in October, my husband took the news harder then me. We are going down this journey before us holding hands, in this together. It's nice to have that kind of love. My heart goes out to your friend... ♥

    I hunted him down in new location
    They moved him to rehab last night...I walked in at lunch (dining hall) he he had HUGE SMILE ON HIS face...his new roommate said "YOU ARE JUST WHAT HE NEEDED!!!!" BOY THAT MADE MY DAY TOO....

    thanks...HE IS IN rehab

    so depressed...with much reason...of course..

    I go on my lunch hour
    to visit him..puts a smile on his face..even for only brief moment...it's worth it..I am stopping by his house to give his dog some TLC too...so he feels better with that too

    Maybe they would allow you to bring his dog for a visit? I'm just saying..continued absence of a pet contributes to depressive symptoms. ( http://www.anthrozoology.org/psychological_sequelae_of_pet_loss_following_hurricane_katrina )

    good idea...I should bring pix down too
    I read they have therpay dogs come in to see clients...

    I"ll mention to family..about his dog..he knows she is being checked on and taken care of..
