in Colorectal Cancer #1
Hi all,
I just got back from seeing the surgeon. Last time i saw him he told me I couldn't go to Italy because it was to close to surgery.(may 24) trip would have been 6/29-7/7/11.
He also told me I had a large hernia. That was then this is now.
I could probably go to Italy, well maybe? Probably better if i don't. He doesn't think it's a hernia, just a weak adominal wall.
I asked if the port could be put in during surgery. "why, you don't need chemo unless we find something very unexpected. Who told you you needed chemo? Uh, You did.
He told me there was no scientific evidence that it would help after resection. You had chemo and its back.So the good news is, I may not need chemo. I will talk to the onc. after to see what he says. But, is there any doubt in anyones mind, that we all have so many questions?????

    I certainly hope you don't have to have the "killer" chemo. I see so many posts here from people who say their doctors denied ever giving them a certain piece of info. Makes you wonder if they're looking at the right patient's chart or just having a"senior moment".LOL
    You almost have to carry a tape recorder to your appointments.

    no such thing
    All chemo does damage, none is specifically known as "killer" chemo that I'm aware of (and I do a lot of reading). Please take care in wording so as not to confuse newbies coming to this forum?

    I know all chemo is toxic and none is called "killer". I should have said damaging or something to that effect.

    Yes, but only if our humors are in balance. Of course upon reading(I had to look it up), the theory is medically discredited.

    Anyway Judy, I'be glad if you can avoid the chemo.
