ideas to help with rash from radiation

My mom started radiation on 4/15/11 to a tumor in her left broncial tube. This is causing a large bumpy ITCHY rash on her back. Does anyone have any good ideas to help this? Thanks for any help that you can give me.

    Radiation burn help...
    Someone posted on another cancer support board that her best friend who is a nurse has been putting aloe on her back each day after radiation, Then she did some research and bought a product called Lindi skin cooler roll. It is a hydrogel roll infused with aloe and water. You cut it to size, peel and stick. She said the relief was great! Not to mention the burn is covered and not coming into contact with her shirt. She bought it at the hospital's cancer center women's store and it was over forty dollars, but she and others on that support board said it can be bought online.
    Hope this helps. Whilst this post was about radiation burn not rash - I think this product might be helpful or the Lindi Products manufacturer might have other products for rashes.

    I purchased calendula lotion
    I purchased calendula lotion from my local health/herb store. My radiologist suggested it, and it worked very well for me. I never did get any skin rash or blistering. Do a Google search on it to see if it sounds right for you. I have heard about those cooler rolls, and that sounds pretty good since she already has some blistering.

    Maybe you could try Biafine.
    Maybe you could try Biafine. It's by Rx only I think. I had a severe rash and some burns and it helped greatly.

    My dad's clinic really recommends Udderly Smooth brand lotions. Here is a link to some on drugstore.com:

    He has not developed a rash as of yet, but since they have a xerox of it in his patient information folder, they must have had a lot of luck with it. Hope that helps!
