OT - Strawberry jelly/jam/preserves

ANybody have a recipe for any of them? I'm not good at making any of them but Son called and asked me to make him som - so told him I would if I could fid a recipe when they are in th stores here. Somehow he is 'dead set' that I used to make it when he was little but I don't remember making any EVER. I did help Nama make Guave, Surinam Cherry jelly when i was little but have no clue what was done. The only jelly I remember making is blackberry jelly (but that was 25 y/o) and we had so many blackberries that the boys picked daily that I had to do something with - also did a lot of applesauce and apple butter from all the trees in the pasture. He really wants me to make him some and he really doesn't want it from 'store' strawberries but ones I've grown. So I bought a dozen strawberry plants and told him I'd make some from 'store' 'berries and then when mine grow make him some more then.

So recipes please.

    Easiest recipe is freezer jam
    I make every year - missed last year!

    1 Qt strawberries, washed, hulled & crushed (should be 2 cups)
    4 C sugar
    3/4 C water
    1 box Sure Jell (fruit pectin)

    Mix strawberries & sugar - let stand 10 minutes, but stir occaisionally
    mix water & pectin in pan, bring to boil - stirring constantly. Add to fruit and stir about 3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
    Pour into containers.
    Let stand 24 hours. Freeze. Yum!

    The jars and lids should be dipped in boiling water and dried thoroughly. I think this makes 5 or 6 jars.

    Does it have to stay frozen once made? Son is 1,500 miles away so I have to ship to him. Hubby walked by and saw the recipe so I now have to make him some too (LOL).

    Nope,
    But they should be refridgerated - ship it frozen with a cold pack in styrofoam. Send it by a quick shipper. I make enough to last a year so they stay in the freezer til we need them.

    You can make the jam recipe that is in the sure jell box and process it in a water bath. Don't have a water bath? Got a large pan? You can do it. PM me if you want details, I have some strawberry jam here I made a couple of weeks ago.
