Here I sit at MSKCC waiting for my appointment with Dr. Paty. I could not help but think of you all. I hope you all are doing well and that those of you struggling are getting the help you need. I am feeling fortunate to be getting the level of care I have been getting mostly through other people advocating on my behalf. I hope each of you has the support you need.

Our losses these last few weeks have been kind of hard to take. I had to take a few months off from reading the forums because of all those who lost their battle with cancer just a few short months ago. With my recent recurrence I have been made so aware of how fragile our peace can be for those of us dealing with this disease..

To those of you celebrating NED (even the smaller victories) - don't keep from posting your good news! Ever once and a while someone says something about not posting something (either good news or bad) because they did not want to seem insensitive to those who are suffering and our recent loses. That is just crazy talk! We love to hear the good news, especially amid all the sorrow and suffering - it provides balance in perspective concerning this disease.

To those of you with less than good news who don't want to post because you do not want to bring more sorrowing addition to our recent losses - pfffft - I think we can all agree one of the great things about this board is that it is a safe place to come to share our ups and downs and get the support we all NEED! Post away!

Peace,
Rick

Good news goes a long way
God Bless you Rick, thanks for reminding us to share our good news. I've got good news, although I'm stage 4 with mets to lungs, I've just finished my 69th chemo treatment over the last 4 years and I'm still going strong, working full time as a landscaper(even while on the dreaded pump). Chemo sucks as we all know, but a positive attitude and a smile go a long way to our recovery. Thanks Rick, hang in there, Randy
