Well, I've held on to my eyelashes through all of my chemo treatments and now three weeks after the last treatment they are coming out. They itch and it feels like glue is in my eyee. I am miserable. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this. I am going crazy and just want to rip out my eyes, which are swollen by the way.

    Call your doctor
Losing eyelashes is fairly common on chemo, but I would let your doc know about your other symptoms as you may have a little conjunctivitis. Better to be safe than sorry. Here is a great link:

Managing Eye Problems during Chemotherapy (from chemocare.com)

And let us know how you are doing!

Thank You for the link. I will call my onc in the morning. He told me that this would probably happen, but I honestly thought it wouldn't because I held on to my eyelashes all this time.

    Eyelashes
Yes, mine came out same time as yours. However, they grew back just as fast. In no time at all they were back as long and thick. Hope yours return soon.

I am right there with Roz .. eye lashes fell out, came
back, and fell out again. Brows or lashes, not as thick and supple as before, chemo therapy infusion.

    Still hoping and waiting!

    My eyelashes
were the last to fall out and I was constantly getting them in my eye. Very annoying to say the least. At times they were sore. My lashes came back fast though and are nice and thick now. My eyebrows are still much to be desired as is my hair on my head. Hope yours come back fast and all will be well. FYI when I had no lashes my tears ? kept running down my face.

    I've lost my eyelashes and
I've lost my eyelashes and eyebrows! The eyebrows you can pencil in, and if you use a little eyeliner, it helps to mask the loss of eyelashes! Mine are itchy also, and my daughter, who is an Opthalmic Tech, told me to use a warm facecloth on my eyes. Just put the facecloth on your eyes for a few minutes. It removes the gunk and feels soothing. Good luck!

    Lost eyelashes
I lost my eyelashes and eyebrows a couple of weeks after my last chemo which was 11-17-10. They grew back by early February, but now I'm losing those first eyelashes and new ones are growing in again. Weird. Hope they stay this time!
I found losing them the first time to be more traumatic that losing my hair, but it doesn't feel like a big deal this time :-)

    Not to freak anyone out
But I lost my eyelashes twice, and the third time they just really thinned out again...frustrating to see lashes on your cheeks all the time!

Never lost my eyebrows but they have thinned some.

    I HATED losing my eyelashes!!

    3 times
I also lost eyelashes after chemo was over and then out came the brows. I did not only loose them once but 3 times. I hated it to. I just used eyeliner and drew in my own brows. hang in there.

    Same as you
I thought I was going to be lucky and keep mine, too, but about a month after chemo they all fell out. They're slowly growing back (I'm not about 7 months after last chemo).

I have to say I love wearing false eyelashes, tho. But I sure wish I'd get my head hair back!
