My dad has stage 4 colon cancer with mets to the liver. Surgery not a option. Been doing chemo for about 5 months. He is miserable because of a constant feeling like he has to have a BM. even left after he does. He goes regularly so he is not constipated but is plagued by this urge and pain in his right side. He is on tons of pain meds, 150mg fentynol patch, 40 mg oxycotin time release and 5mg oxycodone for breakthru pain. He has tried Bentyl which is suppose to be an antispasm med to help with that urge but it didnt work. He is very aggrevated by this and looking for advise. Anyone got ideas? Has anyone has this problem with colon cancer?

A sign
That is actually one of the signs of colon cancer, a feeling that you have not completed a bowel movement. In your dad's situation, I honestly don't have any idea of what they could do to make it better. I do hope his doctor can make him feel more comfortable somehow.
*hugs*

I had something similar
I had radiation that caused the symptom.
It passed soon after radio was finished.
I am sorry for your dad, its unpleasant.
My only suggestion is to put it back onto your doctors.
cheers,
Pete0
