If you had oncotype, what was your score?

You all are going to be sorry I ever found this site with all these constant questions of mine.

I was wondering what your oncotype score was, and if you had chemo or not based on that? My onco told me I'll be getting it if I fall into either the high or intermediate range, but I know others who had scores in the 20's who turned it down. I am also trying to get an idea of the most typical score range for those of us who have this test. I tried to find the stats on percentages of BC survivors on the Internet last night, who fell into each range, but couldn't find it.

    mine was 17
    my score was 17 my onco said it was high so we decided chemo for me in 2009. i wanted to do everything i could.

    I'm IBC - all my Drs said that there was no reason to do it because of the type. IBC is very aggressive so treat with the theory that it will return.

    I had neo-adjunct Chemo, surgery, Chemo, Rads and am on Femara for over a year now - another almost 4 years to go.

    Remember that not all breast cancers are equal to each other in prognosis or TX.

    Nancy, I had IDC with only one node involved. My OncoDx score was 4. Since it was low, I opted out of chemo. I had 33 rads. Do I second guess myself? All the time. But I made my decision with my heart, mind and all the info I could gather. Many others have have decided to 'give it all they've got' and include chemo.

    Every bc is different, Onc's advice will vary. Only you can decide what is best for you. Listen to te very brave women on this site, the chemo sisters have said it may not be easy, but it IS doable.

    Mine was 32
    The Dr said I had NO choice - I did dense dose chemo (every two weeks, instead of every three) and then tamoxifen for 5 years after chemo - although since the chemo put me instantly in menopause, I'll be switching to something else other than tamoxifen in several more months I believe.

    Mine was 22
    My onco said that I had a 10% chance of recurrence in the next 10 years. Chemo would reduce that by 1-2%. He said that if I was a family member he would not recommend chemo. I opted not to do chemo. I started Arimidex, but was instructed to stop taking it as it was more than likely exacerbating my arthritis. Will probably start a new medication in the next week or so. I am 57. There are many things to consider when making decisions about our health. Everything has to be considered and we have to utimately decide what's best for us.

    I think 17 is a relatively low number :<(

    Mine was 21 which put me as they say in the "grey area". I am in a study [TaylorX] and was randomized for chemo treatments!I also got two diff doc. opinions!You must choose what is best for you!

    Waffle,you said "randomized for chemo treatments". Does this mean you had them or not? Just curious. My onc told me she had a hard time getting women to participate in the Taylor X study because most wanted to be able to make the choice themselves.

    Suzanne, I did have chemo! In the study it is a 50/50 chance. Everything about my bc made it a hard decision for me. So I just ended up being comfortable with either and the study.So I guess my choice was not to choose...I think the study is closed now?! I am praying that I will still be here when they release the results!
