Drop the kids at school, the wife to her car so she could visit her sick dad and I made it to my 10am city appointment with barry enema. Its a joke, he is not a person its a procedure.

Did my barium enemas today, no leaks found with internal joins and stitching.

I have found some external leaks, been to the toilet 30 times since the procedure, not much passing just the urge to sit on the loo and contemplate life with a mild degree of discomfort.

not winging just curious if the discomfort persists for 12 or 24 hours or longer.

My kids think I look funny in a nappy. Even I think I look funny in a nappy.
Gee its come in handy, onto the third one now.

    I am dog tired but cannot sleep on toilet
    thanks gail,
    its such a strange feeling, the first use of the rear my dear in 6 months.
    oh well, must soldier on.

    I just gave birth to a well formed poo!!
    To be honest it was quiet an achievement if I do say so myself.

    You see the devil is in the little details that doctors and nurses and friends here even don't or cannot mention because we are all so different. We can do the same procedures some go well and some go to bad and mine was in between.

    Had I had some warning i would have been prepared, but I know my body and bowel better now and suspected that the enema process had loosed up a few remnants of poo and tissue. as going to call hospital this morning but don't need to now.

    Its about 5.15am in sydney australia here and the dawn is coming soon.
    I have been here up every hour complaining with bowel discomfort, the pain had increased as it waked me from sleep every 30 minutes or so.

    I am really happy now as I have given birth to my first well formed piece of poo. Its the first one in 6 months and I have not had my reversal yet. It must have been hiding in my remaining large intestines just to surprise me. boy did it ever do that.

    Yes an odd post but an honest post and maybe some poor friend down the track will read this and think the pain will stop when the poo poops. I suspected this myself but decided to let mother nature get out what has to come out herself rather than me pushing and creating any strain and hammeroids.

    So I just post away, if I am in agony, some pain or feeling enormous relief as I am now as soon I will put my head on the pillow and be off to sleep at last.

    As the song goes

    "oh waht a night"

    ps the barium enema still was well worth it, as it showed my large bowel thats remaining has healed well and no leaks. Every dark cloud has a silver lining.

    The old experienced nurse explained to me all the xray in detail, it was most amazing to follow the stoma formation, all the way down to the rectum.

    Maybe it does feel like childbirth! Definately an odd post, but all seems good now "down under" (so sorry, but I just couldn't resist!) for you and that is great! Sleep well!

    my surgeon called me at home after I emailed him this thread
    it was an ugly little sucker that I flushed it away before I could get the specifics.

    I do have a photo, which is pretty grose. All I can say is the he or she could swim.

    My GI doctor explained 95% goes to the bag, the rest goes into the remaining large bowel.
    so I have been storing up some poo for a while and the barium enema helped free it up.
    He has not had this before, he was chuckling to himself alot. so I am pleased my discomfort has given some on the board a little laugh and hopefully those at the hospital.

    it was going to happen sooner or later, and definitely better out than in.

    That the end of the story with my date with Barry Enema. I won't be dating him again, no way.
