Hello, This question is for Monika (Mopar) and anyone else who might know more about the benefits or risks of flaxseed for ovarian cancer. Please correct me if I'm wrong, Monika you said that flaxseed as related to estrogen should not be used? Can you or anyone else expand my understanding as to the risks or benefits of including flax seed in the ovarian cancer fighting diet? I had read in David Servan-Schreiber's book Anticancer, A New Way of Life that "flaxseeds are rich in short-chain vegetal omega-3s and also ligans. These phytoestrogens allay the harmful effects of hormones that promote cancer growth." He recommends grinding the flax seeds in a coffee grinder. I also read about flaxseed in Staying Alive by Brenda Hunter and the Cancer Fighting Kitchen. I just went out and purchased some flaxseed meal and put it in my cereal yesterday. But now I'm a bit confused about its use with ovarian cancer. Also, does anyone have any pros or cons about fish oil? Thank you, Chris
