I have had implants for
I have had implants for just over a year. I have been told I do not need mammo, mri or ultrasound only an annual exam from breast surgeon. I am not real comfortable without some type of testing. My plastic surgeon just says implants are doing good and up to bs for exams. Some days I never want to see another doctor or have anymore tests and other days I am paranoid about another recurrance. Am hoping time eases some of my anxiety. Take care. Marilyn -
I Asked..
Where I have my mammograms done just that question...how they do it with women who have implants...the tech told me it's difficult...they can't use the same amount of pressure for fear of rupturing the implants...also that they have to take twice the amount of "pictures" sometimes more to "see" around the implants....But this is for women who have implants to enhance the breast...not bc patients with reconstruction...all their breast tissue is removed.
We must know the same cat...! -
I had implants placed when I
I had implants placed when I was 41. Nursed 3 kids till age 2 and they killed them. Was a 36c, then went to a A cup. Sooo when I started getting mammos, they did it like regular breasts. Caught cancer at 48. Had bilat mast. Cause the implants are unser the muscle, he was able to leave implants, so no reconstruction needed. I will say the cancer didnt invovle muscle. If it had he would have had to remove implant. I dont get mammos now. Have 2 "bumps" with no nips under my shirts. Good question. katz -
