Hair was coming out in clumps so sat my neighbors girls set up with her hair stylist after they closed to shave me. She let anyone that wanted to come bring whatever they wanted to drink etc. My 6 year old granddaughter cut my hair and my oldest daughter shaved my head then Jen finished it up and cut my wig. I was so okay with it knowing that I had so much support funny once I took wig off last night how cold my head got good thing i bought a night cap!! Di

    Good for You!
Congratulations on your new do. When I started losing my long hair, I first cut it down to about an inch's length.

Still kept coming out in clumps. Since I am an independent soul, I would not pay $40 to have a stylist shave it nor would I allow a man at a barbershop to shave it. Solution? I went to CVS and purchased a battery operated hair clipper set and I shaved my hair down myself in 3 minutes flat. Easy peasy.

I do have several modestly priced wigs which I wear only when necessary. They were purchased through TLCdirect.net (American Cancer Society) and Paula Young Wigs. They look terrific, very natural but I prefer au naturale.

I also had some fun with the wigs. My two very best sister-friends and I tried on my wigs and took pictures of us wearing them. I also named my wigs, i.e., Paula Deen, Dorothy Malone, etc. Great fun and it relieved the pressure of wearing a wig.

Now no more bad hair days and it takes me a second to dry my hair after my shower.

Good luck to you; you'll do well.

No more bad hair days! Yes! That's what I love best about being bald! My showers are now down to 5 mins and I don't have to spend an hour with curling and straightening and hair spray!

Congrats on having the courage to shave yourself!

    Be Well,
    Dianne

As soon as my hair started falling out.....
I had my fiance shave my head. I always hung out in the house with my bald head but when I went out, I would put a scarf on. Have a very pretty Raquel Welch wig that I got at the American Cancer Society for free that I never wore. I live in Florida and it was just to hot down here to wear it.

    Love and Light,
