Stage IIIa non small cell carcinosarcoma

My father's diagnosis is Stage 3a non small cell carcinosarcoma with spindle cells. Apparently the spindle cell, and mix of carcinoma and sarcoma is very, very rare. Any chance anyone out there has heard of this??? Our local oncologist is consulting with another regional oncologist that may have more experience with these cases.
Again, any input would be so appreciated!!

Any update on this?
Hi Lynn,
Any update on your dad's case?
I have something the docs not sure about too.
They are saying it's a spindle cell neoplasm.
Malignant spindle cell neoplasm with epithelioid features.
Large pleomorphic spindle shaped cells with hyperchromatic nuclei atypical mitotic
Tumor shows staining with antibodies to vimenton and actin
Thanks!
Steve
