    Awesome!
Great article! I too was diagnosed with Stage IV Rectal Cancer in June 2009. My daughter is on the travel soccer team and it has been one of the things that keeps life feeling normal. I love watching my daughter play and I refuse to miss a single practice or game. It forces me to put the cancer on the back burner for a while instead of just focusing on it. By watching me deal with the cancer in a positive, I am going to beat this and look good while doing it manner, I have a bunch of little girls that look at cancer in a whole new light. They know its serious but now they see that you can have canncer and still live a happy life. Good job, Coach! You are inspiring those players in more ways than one!

    Good article, Councilman!
Roger, you are a true inspiration to me. I am amazed at how you are coaching, but I didn't know you are a councilman. Good for you! The article was great. Thanks for letting us see it. I would like to know how do a hyperlink too. Phil seems to do them; maybe he can teach us.

    Hyperlink to the rescue :D
Hey Roger... am just about to go read your article but thought I'd give you (and anyone else interested) the quick and dirty on putting up a simple hyperlink here on the board :)

    Roger's Newspaper article

    < a href="url" >Link text

(darn, it won't show the last bit of code at the end, after you name your link with Link text. Follow that with a < /a > ) You have to close off the link hence the /a is important proceeded by a bracket on either side, no spaces)

Ok... hopefully that will show as an example and not turn into a hyperlink itself. Notice the coding in between the first brackets? Take out the spaces... there are to be no spaces but if I didn't you wouldn't be able to see the coding. Now, where you see the "url", you want to put the full web link, like you have up in your post. Just do what you did there, copy your long link, highlight the word url, and paste your link to replace that word.

Now, where you see Link text... again, take out the spaces I put before and after those words. Replace the two words with whatever you want to call your link. For instances, in the example I did above, I called it Roger's Newspaper article. You can't see the long web link that I put, because I replaced the word url with your long web link. Voila... you now have a clickable link :)

Just remember to take out those spaces that I put in the example so that you could see the coding behind setting up a hyperlink or clickable link :)

    You are a super hero!
Wow Roger.... I just read the article and you truly are a super hero... both to the kids that you are so involved with and to us, your semi-colons! It's that drive that we all need to continue on and you have it in spades! Just reading the article gave me that extra boost and shake to get on with it, Cheryl! Yes, we all need to know when to relax and build up our energy... but we also need to know when enough is enough and get out there and use some of that energy!!

Thank you for the reminder!! Fabulous picture, fabulous article and I feel like I know you just a little bit more than from here on the boards... and I am sure impressed with what I see and read :)

From one soccer parent to another!
Love the game! ! I am sure that the kids need you just as much as you need them right now! I was diagnosed in 2008 when my son was playing in college and it made me feel "normal" to go to his games. So keep on the game face and enjoy the action on the pitch!
