Free housecleaning for Women undergoing chemo.

Hi everyone,

My Cancer Support Group leader sent this to me today. Hopefully, someone can make use of this service.

Darlene

If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE
housecleaning - once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the
treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. This organization serves the
entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. It's our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that
care. Be a blessing to someone and pass this information along.

    Thank you
    Darlene,

Thank you so very much for this info. Right now I am in remission. I will make a note of this info. JUST IN CASE.

Anyway, my poor friend was DX with breast cancer in Oct 2010. She is a divorced mother of 4.
She is only 44 years old. She has 2 more chemo treatments, then she will under go radiation.
She has a large house and needs help with cleaning. I will forward the info from your post.

I know your post will help so many others, thank you. Maggie

    Have been there....
I didn't know this type of help would be so appreciated until my sister-in-friends and their husbands came out to clean my house before my daughter's wedding. I was so tired I didn't care if my house was dirty, even though wedding pictures were going to be done at our farmhouse! My little story is even going to be published in Ladies Home Journey May 2011 issue.

Thank you for providing this information, I have added this info as a post on my blogsite: http://lifeisgood2010.wordpress.com/

    Hugs!

    Merrywiner,

I was happy to get the word out about the housecleaning. Would surely have appreciated it while I was sick, even now would be good. Still fatigued, and not sleeping at all. (Note the time I'm writing this). For the last few days I have been very short of breath, went to doctor today and he only took a chest x-ray. Was kind of disappointed in him, thought he could have done some blood work or at least an ekg. I noticed my doc at Mayo took an LDH Cardiac Blood test last time, it was 139. Do you know what that is?

I won't be going back to Mayo until July for my yearly check-up. Long time to wait.

Are you over your cold and sinus?

    Miss Maggie & Country Gal
You are very welcome. I had never heard of such a service, and would have so appreciated the help. It seems to be a good organization. They get different cleaning services to volunteer their time for these cancer patients, helping them through a rough time. God Bless them. I hope your friend will be able to obtain services, Maggie.

    Janelle,

I will look for your article in Ladies Home Journal in May. You don't look old enough in your picture to have a married daughter. I will take a look at your blog tomorrow night too while I'm NOT sleeping.

    Hi Darlene
I am finally over the cold stuff. Thank you for asking. I also go back in July but don't have a date yet. The LDH is a really important test they do with cancer patients at least for sure Lymphoma patients. It is difficult to explain but it is an indicator of tissue damage among other things. This test was done on you because of your diagnosis not your heart and at any rate that is a nice solid normal. If you google LDH you can read all the specifics. Like I said hard to explain but when I first went to Mayo with all of my records from my first opinion they were very surprised that no LDH was done and said of all the blood tests that would be the one they would want to see. Sorry about the sleeping thing. So many seem to have that. I can sleep well at any time. LOL! I have always been a good sleeper and I practice a lot! It may have something to do with getting up at 4AM. By 9PM I can't stay awake any longer. Take care, Mary
