Just realized I haven't seen anything about this program here for a while and there are a lot of new menbers so thought I's bring it up - again.

It is a program through the ACS that teaches women going through Chemo 'tricks' with doing makeup during that time. They also give you a bag of 'goodies' - makeup - name brands.

Call your local ACS office or the BC Navigator (she's the one that told me about it) at you Chemo site about when the next class is. Definately worth your time!

Yes, I went to one and had a great time. It was a nice way to forget about everything and feel a little pampered. And really nice makeup!

They will give you a book
They will give you a book that gives points to use when drawing on eyebrows - what worked the best to me was to start drawing eyebrows on while I still had some (I only lost about 1/2 eyebrows on A/C but then on Taxol they all 'left'). The points to use in the book would have been decent but not exactly where my brows grow. By the time they totally left I was used to the feel of where to draw them so they were where they 'normally' grew.

The ones (yes I've been to 2 - you only get one bag of goodies though) I've been to were a nice social time in addition to education. The firt time I went I still had hair (one week after first A/C). The BC Navigator had given me a nice wig but it really wasn't me so I took it with me - there was a lady there that it so perfect for so she got it. The next day I went down to the Salon of the Hairdresser who was doing the class - she had been given a wig that she thought she' never find anyone for - it's a long gypsy shag which was great for me - i can pull it back in a pony tail and other than color (it's frosted) looks very much like my hair. I usually only wore it to somewhere 'special' as winter here is very windy and in the wind it definately looked like a wig.

    Free is Good
I went to a" Look Good Feel Better" workshop back in November. I got some really cool makeup (Channel, Neiman Marcus, Physician's Formula, etc.) I am a sucker for new makeup. And it's all FREE! About halfway through the presentation I was overcome with wicked nausea! I had to go home I was so bad. The good part is they let me keep the makeup!
It is definitely worth it to attend. They have them everywhere.

    Brought another thought to
Brought another thought to mind (or what I call a 'mind' - LOL), You can go to later classes (at least at the CCI I go to) and give encouragement/hints that worked for you to the Newbies. (No you don't get new bags but you do have info that can help others and it's a nice night with 'gals'.
