Why can't they just go:" Open up your mouth and stick out your tongue?"

It is a long way from "ahhhhhhhhhh" to what they need to see!

If I wasn't unconscious, I'd probably drop kick 'em with my right leg and put 'em to bed. This hurts just thinkin' about......good luck, Steve:)

colostomy...Bothered a bit when removed....even more so when needed another one inserted some time after removal of original as urine was backing up; was awake for this one's removal as well as its insertion....Things aint worked right since.....Last CT/PET of 12/1 indicated scar tissue too near or upon my ureter (tube from kidney to bladder) so I ended up doing sonogram and then the beginning of what seems to be a lengthy and intimate relationship with a urologist and his pretty, young PA who, (the only good thing about it),a month ago did a urodynamic test on me....I was hoping the pills prescribed since that visit would suffice but as per phone conversation this afternoon, another probe needed tomorrow.....

So Craig, you're damn right it hurts, even if its momentarily and just thinking about it caused me to attempt at some humor by starting this post.......steve

problem of mine to combination of chemo, rad and surgery as all involved-onc,radiologist and surgeon--also seemed to think so too til this last CT/PET seemed to indicate potential kidney problem....Now, tho I'm still not totally sure (guess thats one reason for more testing)but this difficulty I've been having might be merely a result of getting older!!!!!!

You dredged up horrible memories for me!!! Just a week and a half ago, I had the displeasure of having my 11 inch stent removed (keeping the ureter open after they removed a little tumor attached to the ureter). They didn't give a thing for pain. I Yi Yi!!!!
I'm still trembling at the memory of it.
I don't envy you hun.
Unfortunately, on the cancer road, I've learned we put up with what we have to put up with.
Good luck hun, and remember it only lasts for a moment, the pain.

I have regular appointments with a urologist, currently once a year, to check for prostate cancer. I started that at the suggestion of my oncologist when I had a high score on the PSA test (which is a diagnostic for prostate cancer). And previously I had a catheter in place for 8 days, after my colostomy for rectal cancer. Luckily, I was not conscious when the catheter was inserted (I gather that can be a trying experience when you're not anaesthetized).

Though my trouble is my psa is way low but my prostate is way big to the extent it is dimpling my bladder. I had the most obnoxous doctor I have ever met as a urologist. He more or less told me to @##$ off and stop wasting his time. I have a psa done every year and If I am ever dx with prostate ca ,that is one doc who will die a poor man. Ron.
