Thank you just doesn't do justice to the feelings I have for all all the people that make up this amazing club. I was diagnosed a year ago this month with stage 3 colon cancer. I completed 6 months of chemo in September and am now feeling great. I will be 44 this month and feel lucky for every day I am alive.

I have 2 daughters 10 and 11 and when I was diagnosed all I worried about was dying and not seeing them grow up. I was terrified of terrifying them. I promised them from the start I would be completely honest with them. They would often come to the hospital and play cards or cuddle next to me whilst I had my chemo. They would sit on on my lap and hug me whilst I had my many appointments with my doctor. Most of all they gave me unconditional love. When my hair started to fall out they told me I was beautiful. When I smelt from chemo and constant farting they didn't care. They were never embarrassed to be out with me when I could barely stand and they believed in me.

I want you all to know this is how I feel about each and everyone of you. I might not post often but all of you are wrapped in my love just as I am wrapped in the arms of my daughters and husband. I laugh with you, cry with you and constantly think of you. Recently there have been posts about loneliness. Apart from my girls and husband none of my family or my husbands family have wanted anything to do with me. I want you to know none of you are alone because the love that comes from this board is overwhelming.

I have learnt that nothing is important in life apart from feeling loved. I might not know any of you in person and I know it sounds crazy but I do feel love for all of you. You have been there for me and I will always have you in my heart. None of you need think you are going through this alone.

I don't know what the future holds but I know I am going to plan on living in the moment as much as I can. We have 2 puppies and life is very busy.

Big hugs from a very snowy Switzerland. Anne xxxx

    Good girl! Great attitude!!!!!
And we are just above you (well, it's a bit of a drive...lol...) in The Netherlands in our 'other home'....

No snow here today, but last week there was. Monday is starting a new freeze...but not enough for the 11 cities race, I'm afraid....

    Hugs, Kathi

It was very kind of you to share your story and to put into words what we all feel about the support from the folks here.

May the new year bring health and happiness to you and your loved ones.

Thank you for all those kind
Thank you for all those kind words. They do help so much. I am 46, diagnosed stage 3 in June and have a 9 and 11 year old. No puppies :) I go through much of the same as you described.

    Take care, Gail

    Beautiful!
And so well said! Thank you, Anne, for describing how you feel about your family and this board and how it has helped you get through some of the rough parts of this journey!

Hahaha... I can only imagine what kind of energy you need to keep up with two active children AND two active puppies!! More power to you!! :D

    Happy New Year!

    Thanks
Thanks for a very wonderful and heartfelt post. Glad that you have kept up with the board even though you don't post often. Sometimes you can gather your strength just from reading rather than posting and it's good that you are still here and we can help. Your attitude is amazing and it sounds like two little girls have an awesome mom. Glad that you are doing good. Thanks again for the uplifting post.

    Happy New Year! Kim
