is anyone feeding apricot seeds to their loved one with cancer? is this a myth about the vitamin b-17? |

if you read some of the claims out there on the internet, 7 apricot seeds daily is all one needs to cure cancer, such outragious statemnets as

One of my well meaning, wackadoodle-all-natural-and-on-every-other-nutritional-bandwagon-conspiricy-theorist-girlfriends came over after Mike got his diagnosis. She had a ziplock back full of ground apricot seeds because laetrile was the "new miracle cure". I explained to her very carefully that herbal supplementation could really interfere with the medicines and treatments he was getting from the doctors, and even though I was gentle, she got her feelings hurt. (How to get someone who vomits at the smell of food cooking to eat what appeared to be ground playsand, I'll never know)
FYI--nothing new about laetrile. I remember a 60 minutes segment on it that ran in the 70's as the false "new" miracle cure. I'm all for alternative medicine, but I despise snake oil salesmen that influence the desperate with false hopes.
