spine cancer or something else?

My mom has been dx with breast mets to the bones. Her spine, pelvis and hips all have it. The top of her spinal column is heavily curved outwards for a few inches...... is this from the cancer or maybe osteperosis setting in? Is this what bone cancer in the spine does?
